As a mental health counselor and healing arts practitioner, my approach is heart-centered, nature-inspired, humanistic, holistic, relational, experiential, and existential. I operate through a social justice lens with the perspective of a first-generation Vietnamese-American queer femme weaving between the intersections of Eastern philosophies of somatic mindfulness, ancient rituals, and contemporary depth-oriented theories in clinical practice.
My decade-long career in entertainment and marketing, along with my experience as a business owner, has given me a rich background in cultivating relationships and building rapport through active listening and narrative storytelling—key elements in forming a strong therapeutic alliance.
My ultimate intention in life now is to share the transformative possibilities and benefits of counseling and communal care with those seeking healing. Grief has been my biggest torment and greatest teacher as well as the driving force behind why I became a therapist. Effective therapy and emotional support can be life-changing. It opened a portal for me to explore new ways of being and healing, learning and unlearning. I received my M.A. in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Spiritual & Depth Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles. My work as a counselor began in community mental health at Southern California Counseling Center and the juvenile injustice system.
I have divested from licensure to move away from the medical and mental health industrial complex rooted in a history of racism, systemic violence, disembodiment, and alienation from ourselves and our communities. By decolonizing my practice and extricating myself from oppressive systems, I am aligning my life’s work with my core values of advocating for holistic healing and collective liberation.
