• For therapy, I see adults all across the U.S. and abroad. Pet companions are lovingly welcomed on screen and in real life.

Although I am open to working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, my primary focus is on supporting the AAPI/BIPOC (People of the Global Majority) and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Many of the people I work with are creatives, entrepreneurs, and professionals across various fields. Despite their successes in certain areas of life, they often feel as though something is missing, and even though they may be doing their best, it still feels as if it is never enough. I also see students, young people (love Gen Z), and older folx struggling to navigate life transitions and make sense of their experiences. Common issues include relationship difficulties, anxieties about the future, shame spirals, or a sense of stuckness. My participants are deeply interested in exploring the emotional, relational, environmental, and spiritual dimensions of their lives, and they are committed to personal growth and increasing their self-awareness.

I intentionally keep my practice spacious and only work with a select number of people at a time because I just wanna surf tbh. But for real, I am passionate about this healing work, and it is essential for me to take care of myself so that I can show up to each session fully present, grounded, and focused on the person I’m with.

In addition to my private practice, I facilitate healing circles for incarcerated teens and meditations for elders.

  • Earth for now.

My practice is mostly online, and sessions meet on Zoom. I reside in Southern California on Tongva Land and travel often. Depending on your location, in-person home visits or outdoor sessions may be arranged (beach, park, or other green spaces).

  • One who cares deeply. I’m ready to laugh, cry, move, sit in stillness, rage against the machine together. My approach is heart-centered, Earth-based, nature-inspired, humanistic, holistic, experiential, and existential. I operate through a transformative justice lens with the perspective of a Vietnamese-American queer femme weaving between the intersections of Eastern philosophies of mindfulness and contemporary depth-oriented theories in clinical practice.

As a healing practitioner, I take an integrative approach, blending different therapeutic modalities to meet people where they are and offer care that is tailored to each person’s unique needs. Here are the primary approaches I draw from:

    Relational Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt (German) means ‘whole’, ‘pattern’, ‘form’, ‘shape’, ‘configuration’ - there’s no direct translation in English, but when something is considered as a whole, it has qualities that are more than the sum of all its parts

This holistic, humanistic, relational, and experiential modality helps people connect more deeply with themselves in the present moment. By focusing on the here-and-now and the interconnectedness of our thoughts, feelings, body sensations, relationships, and environment, we can recognize patterns of the past, work through unresolved experiences, and move toward greater self-acceptance and authentic, fulfilling ways of living.

Gestalt therapy is a process psychotherapy that originated in Germany in the 1930s, developed by Fritz and Laura Perls, who were psychoanalysts in Frankfurt and Berlin. Their ideas differed from Freud’s so radically that they broke off and formed their own approach. Gestalt therapy was shaped by psychoanalysis, existentialism, phenomenology, and field theory, and it draws heavily from Zen Buddhism and Taoism.

    Somatic Mindfulness

Soma (Ancient Greek) means ‘body’ or the physical form of a living organism

This approach combines body awareness, breathwork, movement, and non-judgmental observation to help express stored emotions and release trauma held in the body. By focusing on the present moment and noticing sensations without judgment, this supports healing from C/PTSD, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, while fostering greater acceptance, self-compassion, and ease with our inner experience. Somatic therapy explores not just our emotions, but also how they live or show up in our bodies, offering another way to understand and connect with ourselves. I recognize that not everyone is ready to dive into feeling every feeling, so we’ll move gently at your pace, honoring what feels safest for you, while gradually building your capacity and resilience.

    Sound Healing

This therapeutic practice uses specific frequencies and vibrations to restore balance and harmony in the mind, body, and spirit. Rooted in ancient wisdom and modern science, it works through principles such as entrainment, where the body synchronizes with rhythmic patterns and resonance, the idea that each part of the body has a natural frequency that can be restored through sound frequencies that resonate with the body's energy centers (chakras) to promote balance and alignment. Music and sound can help reset the nervous system, ease stress and tension, and invite deep rest and better sleep. It supports emotional expression, enhanced clarity, creativity, and resilience, and nurtures overall well-being while opening pathways to inner connection. In sessions, I often weave in drums, sound bowls, bells, chimes, and other instruments or music. I also offer sound baths/sound therapy experiences.

    Attachment-Focused EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) was developed by American psychologist, Dr. Francine Shapiro, in the late 1980s, and is used to treat traumatic experiences and their associated symptoms, such as C/PTSD, anxiety, and depression. It involves a series of eight phases that guide the person through the process of reprocessing traumatic memories. During each phase, the person focuses on the traumatic event and experiences bilateral stimulation (eye movements, auditory cues, or tapping). By stimulating the brain's natural healing processes, EMDR facilitates the reprocessing and integration of memories in a more adaptive way, which can reduce the intensity of traumatic memories, alleviate emotional distress, and reduce associated symptoms.

Bilateral stimulation is neither a new nor revolutionary discovery, as it mirrors ancient traditions and Indigenous healing practices such as drumming, dancing, and even walking. Humans have been turning to these rhythmic, bilateral forms of movement for healing for thousands of years.

Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR), developed by Dr. Laurel Parnell, adapts EMDR through the lens of attachment theory to heal early relational wounds. It addresses how childhood neglect, abuse, or parental misattunement shape attachment styles and can be especially helpful for those with insecure attachment. AF-EMDR is designed to repair the impact of relational trauma, including abuse, neglect, betrayal, or growing up with parental figures struggling with addiction or mental illness.

    Death+

While I am trained as a therapist and death doula, my path into grief work and deathcare has been shaped most profoundly by lived experiences through the death portal and the intimate role of being an end-of-life caregiver, with losing my parents and my former partner, as well as other family members, friends, and pets.

Death positivity invites us to meet mortality with openness and compassionate curiosity rather than fear. It encourages honest conversations about death and dying, supports end-of-life planning, and honors grief as a natural part of life. In acknowledging our shared impermanence, we can discover meaning, connection, and even a deeper reverence for living.

    Decolonial & Liberation-Centered

My work is relational, strength-based, trauma-affirming, compassion-focused, mindfulness-based, and culturally sensitive through a decolonized approach and an intersectional feminist lens that centers abolition and liberation. I stand firmly against genocidal and carceral systems, support reproductive freedom, and strongly believe in the movements for Black lives, trans lives, queer joy, land back, disability rights, sex workers, and the liberation of all oppressed peoples around the world. FUCK ICE. Free Palestine. Free Congo. Free Sudan. Free Yemen. Free Hawai‘i. Free all oppressed beings. Free us all.

If these values don’t align with yours, I accept that we may not be the right fit. You may think politics don’t belong in therapy, but everything is political. Especially how we heal.

  • My standard fee/your investment: $200 per 1-hour session.

Please check each offering’s page for details.

  • My fee structure reflects my extensive education, ongoing training, and alternative healing practices I integrate into our work. A core part of my mission is to provide accessibility to people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. This includes supporting the BIPOC community through a lower fee structure, facilitating group offerings, and dedicating substantial time and effort to contribute my labor and skills to nonprofit organizations serving under-resourced communities and systemically oppressed populations. To effectively fulfill these commitments, it is essential to ensure the sustainability of my practice and overall well-being.

  • A core part of my mission is to make healing accessible across various socioeconomic backgrounds. When some pay full fee or more, it helps me offer reduced rates for others, create community offerings, and volunteer with nonprofits serving under-resourced and systemically oppressed communities.

I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available, and priority is given to BIPOC who have been historically racially oppressed.

The sliding scale pricing model used is inspired by the Green Bottle Method by Alexis J. Cunningfolk and tailored to the people I work with. This approach offers flexible fee options based on your financial situation, making support more accessible. Rooted in anti-oppressive values, this method honors both economic realities and community accountability.

This work is grounded in mutual trust, transparency, and equity. I ask that you evaluate your proximity to power and privilege and be honest about what you’re truly able to invest, not what you’re willing to pay based on your perceived value of these services, and update me if your financial situation changes.

While I do need to sustain my livelihood, I believe healing services should reflect the varied access people have to resources.

  • All services are private pay (out-of-pocket) to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and quality, avoid third-party barriers and influences, and focus on a growth and strength-based approach to healing rather than on psychopathology and diagnosis. I have divested from licensure to move away from the medical and mental health industrial complex, so I am not in network with any insurance plans and cannot provide super bills.

To bill insurance, clinicians are required to assign a diagnosis from the DSM (Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders), a flawed system shaped by colonialism and Eurocentric frameworks. It often ignores systemic issues, lacks cultural humility, pathologizes natural responses to oppression, aligns with pharmaceutical interests, and medicalizes suffering rather than addressing its root causes.

"There's no billing code for a healthy person." This statement continues to haunt me and is one of the many reasons I will never work with insurance.

    I also hate paperwork.

  • I am unable to provide specialized letters of any kind, such as for an emotional support animal.

  • Consistency is key to creating lasting change. It is recommended that we begin with one session per week to establish a regular rhythm and build rapport. Standard sessions are one hour. Some people find meeting more frequently or having longer sessions beneficial, while others might not find weekly sessions feasible. We can work together to customize an arrangement that best supports your needs.

Healing is a lifelong process, but I don’t think people need to be in therapy for the rest of their lives. While I would love to support people through all of life's ebbs and flows, I also believe taking breaks or gradually reducing the frequency of sessions can be healthy. The traditional therapy model often perpetuates codependency between therapists and their participants. Everyone can benefit from therapy, but the notion that "everybody needs therapy" indicates we have much larger societal issues to address.

  • Please reach out to book a phone or Zoom consultation. I offer a complimentary half-session (30 minutes) for us to connect and explore the possibility of working together. Let’s see how we vibe :)
