Approach

I hold a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and trained as a therapist—then decided, fuck the system and divested from licensure to disengage from exploitative systems. My practice centers decolonial, heart-led medicine rooted in liberation, ancestral wisdom, and radical care. As a mental health practitioner, I am committed to deconstructing oppressive ideologies, healing relational wounds and intergenerational trauma, reconnecting to ancestry in ways that honor both land and lineage, and integrating nature’s wisdom into therapeutic practices. I believe in embracing life as an embodied experience and bridging the synergy of mind, body, and spirit through psychosomatic awareness and integration. My work promotes diversity consciousness, community empowerment, and compassionate action.

I strive to provide a non-judgmental, supportive environment where folx can explore ingrained patterns, gain insight, and shift toward more ease. Rooted in an empowerment model, my approach recognizes that each participant has the agency to move through their own healing transformation with my role as a co-creative facilitator in their process.

1:1 sessions include mental health counseling, emotional support, and healing companioning through a relational, strength-based, and trauma-focused approach. My work is rooted in compassion and guided by culturally sensitive, mindfulness-based care. I draw from decolonial and feminist frameworks, deeply shaped by my lived experience as a Vietnamese-American queer femme.

My practice integrates a range of therapeutic modalities, including Gestalt, existential, humanistic, narrative, psychodynamic, EMDR, and somatic approaches. I also weave sound healing, breathwork, and movement meditation to support holistic transformation and embodied care.

  • I see individual adults all across the U.S. and abroad. Pet companions are lovingly welcomed on screen and in real life!

    Although I am open to working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, my primary focus is on supporting the AAPI/BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

    Many people I work with are creatives, entrepreneurs, and professionals across different fields. Despite their successes in certain areas of life, they often feel like something is missing, and even though they may be doing the most, it feels as if it is never enough. I also work with students, young people (love Gen Z!), and older folx struggling to navigate life transitions and make sense of their experiences. Common issues include relationship difficulties, anxieties about the future, or a sense of stuckness. My participants are deeply interested in exploring the emotional, relational, environmental, and spiritual dimensions of their lives, and they are committed to personal growth and increasing their self-awareness.

    I am most excited to connect with those willing to deconstruct oppressive ideologies and co-create a more radicalized world where we can exist with more ease and live more liberated lives. As my first therapist would say, "My ideal client is anyone ready to do the work."

    In addition to my private practice, I facilitate healing circles for incarcerated teens and volunteer at a local women’s shelter.

    My practice is mostly online, and sessions meet on Zoom. I reside in Southern California on Tongva Land and travel often. Depending on your location, in-person home visits or outdoor sessions may be arranged (beach, park, or other green spaces).

  • My approach is heart-centered, Earth-based, nature-inspired, humanistic, holistic, experiential, and existential. I operate through a transformative justice lens with the perspective of a Vietnamese-American queer femme weaving between the intersections of Eastern philosophies of mindfulness and contemporary depth-oriented theories in clinical practice.

    My primary modalities are relational Gestalt and somatic therapy, grounded in my spiritual practice of Zen Buddhism, ancestral traditions, and mystic connections. For trauma-focused work, I offer attachment-based EMDR as an option to explore. I am also a death doula and sound healing practitioner, offering integrative support for holistic (life + death) care.

    Limited sliding scale spots available - priority is given to BIPOC who have been historically racially oppressed.

  • My fee structure reflects my extensive education, ongoing training, and alternative healing practices I integrate into our work. A core part of my mission is to provide accessibility to people from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. This includes supporting the BIPOC community through a lower fee structure, facilitating group offerings, and dedicating substantial time and effort to contribute my labor and skills to nonprofit organizations serving under-resourced communities and systemically oppressed populations. To effectively fulfill these commitments, it is essential to ensure the sustainability of my practice and overall well-being.

  • All services are private pay (out-of-pocket) to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and quality, avoid third-party barriers and influences, and focus on a growth and strength-based approach to healing rather than on psychopathology and diagnosis. I have divested from licensure to move away from the medical and mental health industrial complex, so I am not in network with any insurance plans and cannot provide super bills.

    "There's no billing code for a healthy person." This statement continues to haunt me and is one of the many reasons I will never work with insurance.

    I also hate paperwork.

  • I am unable to provide specialized letters of any kind, such as for an emotional support animal.

  • Consistency is key to creating lasting change. It is recommended that we begin with one session per week to establish a regular rhythm and build rapport. Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Some people find meeting more frequently or having longer sessions beneficial while others might not find weekly sessions feasible. We can work together to customize an arrangement that best supports your needs.

    Healing is a lifelong process, but I don’t think people need to be in therapy for the rest of their lives. Effective therapy should pause or end at some point. While I would love to support people through all of life's ebbs and flows, I also believe taking breaks or gradually reducing the frequency of sessions is healthy. The traditional therapy model often perpetuates codependency between therapists and their participants. Everyone can benefit from therapy, but the notion that "everybody needs therapy" indicates we have much larger societal issues to address.
